What is your roadmap?

Do you support communities?

Yes. We like to keep supporting communities as a first class citizen — even though we’re currently focused on teams. The pricing model for communities will be different from teams and it’s currently free of charge.

Will you sell/shutdown?

No. We’re building to last and we’re building a sustainable business funded by our users. Sadly, during 2020-2023 a lot of communication software shutdown or sold and it’s fair to have fear. Our CEO’s previous free app is functional after 6 years and going. We built the first iteration of what became Noor in 2019 and this shows how much we love solving this problem for teams.

What about Windows/Linux/Android?

Use our web app for Windows and Linux until we ship the native clients soon. Windows coming very soon. Android early access will open up later this year.

How secure is this?

We’ve chosen a tech stack that makes our app safer by default. Voice and screen-share are end-to-end encrypted and same is coming soon as an option to enable for threads. We use industry standard encryption for cloud messages and files. In order to provide seamless cross-platform cloud sync, history, and search, we initially didn’t start with E2E threads. We understand the importance and we will release them in an update and will write on our method.

How reliable is it?

Ever since our alpha in late 2022 we’ve been relying on Noor daily. After thousands of hours of work, we launched our beta in June 2023. Since then, we added power features, polished the app, focused on stability, speed and and reliable local-first storage and sync. It means even if everything is down in the worst case, you can access all your data offline and forever.
